Summer Kickoff Party

We had a summer kickoff party yesterday.  We started with a picnic lunch on the driveway.

Then we went to the splash pad with a cousin.

Then had a picnic at the park with daddy for dinner and got to play on the playground and P got to play tennis with some kids at the park as well.

D loves his meatball subs from subway!

Then we ended our summer kickoff with a trip to the frosty frog shaved ice shack.  They have a huge sandbox out front and the boys loved making sand angels.
We were going to sleep on the  trampoline to end our night, but it was overcast and we didn't want to get rained on so we will save that for another night!  I (like most moms) have mixed feelings about summer.  I love having them home with me and having "spontaneous fun" (no schedule to follow really), but I wonder what I'm going to do with them to keep them entertained all summer so we have come up with a list of fun cheap things to do and then P and D got to choose a couple of classes they wanted to do at the rec center to keep them busy.

Happy Mother's Day

Mother, I love you; mother, I do.

Father in Heaven has sent me to you.

When I am near you, I love to hear you

Singing so softly that you love me too.

Mother, I love you; I love you, I do.

Life with P

What can I say about life with P?  He is my oldest and is always so creative.  He loves to come up with brilliant ideas to make life easier and definitely more fun!  He makes friends easily and loves to include everyone.  He is learning spanish, and loves that he can talk to anyone no matter what language they speak.  He loves being a big brother and teaching D how to do and say things and gets so excited when D learns something new.  P has had several "obsessions" in his short 7 years such as trains, mario brothers, club penguin, and mine craft.  I would say his constant obsession is creating.  I think he will be an engineer of some sorts when he grows up, he doesn't know what an engineer does he just says he is going to be a builder.  I can't imagine what life would be like without P in it.  I love him so much and love to watch him grow and create!

Even from a young age, he would come up with his own way of doing things.  Here he is eating pancakes off of his head.

P loves holidays in our house, because he gets to be creative and help decorate.

P is my vegetable lover!  He loves red peppers and cucumbers and opts for those over candy.

P was so thrilled to become a big brother!  He loved laying with D just like this and watching him sleep, while he watched tv.  He would always want D to sleep with him.

P was so excited when he lost his first tooth.  He had to build a contraption to capture the tooth fairy.  Still to this day whenever he looses a tooth, he tries to figure out a way to capture the fairy.

P told Love's side of the family one dinner that he was working on building a time machine.  His uncle told him that he probably had some parts he could use.  This is P with a part for his time machine.

We got P when he was 3 days old.  He was born on Dec. 3 and when we talked to his birth mom, we told her what a great christmas present he was.  When we went to meet her and P for the first time, she had him dressed up in an adorable Santa suit.
